My head was in a fucked-up place. I was torn between following the plan I had set out or risk it all again. Liam’s words taunted me, but not as much as Aspen’s body did. There had always been something about her. The silent way she was just there giving me comfort in my darkest moments.

I could still feel her lips as they kissed my bare hand. The softness against my marred skin. Coming here had been to prove a point. Aspen wasn’t even my main target; the Kings were, but she was an added bonus.

She was right; I could have asked for my cabin back. It was mine since birth, but in doing so, I risked her being out in the cold, or even worse, she would be stuck with Liam. Just thinking about him touching her the way I had drove me insane.

As much as I hated to admit it, I have thought of her as mine since I met her.

I rubbed my temple because I knew Liam had something up his sleeve. Knowing that worked in my favor for now. At least I knew he wouldn’t be stupid enough to try and kill me. I crawled into my tent, and I slept for the first time in the past three days.
